Two Nights In Barcelona ~

I was invited to Barcelona by a dear friend of mine, who I was supposed to meet in Paris initially, but I was unable to make that part of the trip. Nonetheless, I was able to fly to Barcelona, Spain, from the U.S. for two nights and had an excellent time!

Barcelona is a well-known city with many sites to see and things to do as I will explain later. On the other hand, with only two nights on the schedule, I couldn’t pack in everything this wondrous place had to offer, but I will return another time to get lost in the Gothic quarters again and discover more! So, here are a few things to check out when you decide to travel there:

Things To Do

As I previously mentioned, the Gothic Quarters is where you can roam the narrow medieval streets for bars, clubs, stores, and Catalan restaurants to dine. This area also has fantastic architecture and graffiti. The famous La Rambla (a street in central Barcelona) is located around the quarters as well. You can catch the local subway to any of these places. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to see the famous Park Güell, the “Works of Antoni Gaudí” because you have to buy a ticket with a time slot to visit and I overslept from partying the night before. I was agitated at myself about that. Hopefully, I will get another opportunity to see it! Here are some other places to visit that I didn’t list below: La Sagrada Familia, Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, Ciutadella Park, Tibidabo, and much more!

The Montjuïc Cemetery

I saw this place as we were driving to our hotel. Montjuïc ( Jewish Mountain) is a massive hill located in the South West of Barcelona. It has many popular tourist attractions, and this cemetery is one because of its design and several famous dignitaries buried there.

The ticket price is 2.40 euros for one way. You also can buy a T-casual card which allows ten trips on all lines for 11.35 euros.

Picasso Museum

I enjoyed this museum. I was delighted I got to see an actual Picasso painting. It was only 12 euros to enter.

Barceloneta Beach

Mind you, I went to Barcelona in May, and it was still cold at this beach. So, do not let this photo fool you! Haha! The weather was great for taken pictures, but not for swimming! Try in July or August!

Barcelona Cuisines

I have to be honest, I was not too fond of the food in Barcelona. It could be the restaurants I went to, but I tried quite a few. Most dishes weren’t prepared well and lacked flavor. Yet, I expect Barcelona to prove me wrong when I visit again! I want to try more tapas.

You all know I had to try one of the best-known dishes in Spanish cuisine, the paella! This paella was actually tasty, I must admit.

Barcelona NightLife

As far as the nightlife goes, I may have indulged too much! Haha! I partied both nights in Barcelona and had so much fun! Trust me; if this is your thing, you will find some sweet spots to get your groove on! I sure did! There are many restaurants open late for anyone whose not into bar hopping or dancing. You can enjoy a pleasant night with a glass of wine. I like doing only that activity at times myself, so I fully understand.
