The Odyssey Play ~

“The Odyssey” took place this pass weekend in Central Park to sold out crowds at the Delacorte Theater. The show was a Public Work production, a new initiative started by Public Theater to include the community.  “Not only for the people, but by and of the people as well.”   The play was a modern version of the original poem written by Homer. Public Theater also does the “Shakespeare in the Park,” which occurs annual. All shows are free.

I always wanted to go to one of these plays I’ve been hearing so much about and I finally got the opportunity Friday. I was invited by my friend Sebastian, who played as one of Odysseus’s crewmen. He played his part great!  The play was phenomenal as well. It was an hour and 45 minutes, and I enjoyed every bit. The acting and the singing was sensational! I laughed and almost cried. Everyone did a really good job. I would loved to see another one.
