Charlotte, North Carolina ~
“Carolina blue this, Carolina blue kicks!” Whatever Jay-Z said in his lyrics! Haha! Charlotte, North Carolina, has always been on my travel list, but I never got an opportunity to visit until one of my friends had her birthday celebration there. Charlotte is undoubtedly a city on the rise with all kinds of new real estate developments. It’s trying to attract young professionals to contribute and improve the city, which is a great idea.
Also, everyone rides around on scooters, to my surprise! I never saw so many people riding on them in one area. They are conveniently set up in different locations around the city to take you from point A to B. Charlotte has a lot to offer; however, I only was there for two days. I will make sure to go back to North Carolina to give you all more recommendations.
Here are a few things I experienced:
Walked Around The City:
Like I said previously, get on a scooter and ride around the city to see what Charlotte offers. You will enjoy it, and the scooters are not expensive either.
Went To The Epicentre Uptown:
I checked out this area which had a couple of places for shopping and dining. I needed a few items from the Rite Aid located there. However, I’m uncertain about the future of this overall complex. I heard it might be in foreclosure due to the owner defaulting on a loan. It truly would be sad if Charlotte were to lose this mall.
I Stayed At The Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown:
This hotel is conveniently located in the city’s central area and gives you access to a lovely rooftop overlooking Charlotte. It’s an average hotel. Friendly and clean, and suitable for a quick trip getaway. The rooftop pool is a bit small, though. Nonetheless, I had a great view of a firework show from my room, which I enjoyed.
The Fahrenheit Rooftop:
This rooftop is located on the 21st floor of Skye Condominiums, which is attached to the Hyatt Place Hotel. I would recommend this place to meet and greet or just somewhere to hang with friends while taking in the excellent views. Please make reservations ahead of time due to limited space and popularity. Great drinks, cool vibes, but the food is okay. My fish was extremely salty, and I’m a salt person, which speaks volumes.
Enjoying More Of The City And Exploring It At Night:
Now, Charlotte does have nightlife, but you just have to find the correct places to go. I ended up at a “Hole in the Wall,” but I couldn’t leave Charlotte without experiencing at least one of those to see where the locals party. Haha! It was a funny experience, and I will just leave it at that! Ha!
