Claw Daddy’s ~
Now, I’m originally from Louisiana, where tasty, well-seasoned food is life! Especially being from an area located 10 minutes away from New Orleans. No place on earth seasons food like New Orleans! I’m sorry, not sorry! Take a trip there, and you will see that I’m not lying.
Where ever I travel, I always run into places that gets its inspiration from Louisiana and Claw Daddy’s in New York City is one of them. I was a bit skeptical when I heard about this place, but I decided to give it a try. Overall, it was okay. It was pretty decent compared to authentic Louisiana made food.
What I had ~
I had their shrimp gumbo. Also, a pound of crawfish with sausage and potatoes in their “Original Cajun” sauce, which I never experienced boiled crawfish like that before. I was expecting regularly boiled seafood with cajun spices, not an actual sauce that covers them. Next time, I guess I have to be more specific! Crawfish is already messy enough, but with the sauce, I was thankful for the bib and gloves they provided. Louisianans usually don’t eat boiled seafood with gloves and bibs, so that was a first for me too!
The “Original Cajun” sauce was very flavorful, but the crawfish itself was a bit hard and not juicy. The potatoes were bland, and so was the corn my friend had as well. The sausage was delicious, and so was the shrimp gumbo. Their gumbo was perfect! I loved it. The pouch alcohol drinks were satisfying too! Having a few of those will surely have you where you want to be if you know what I mean! Haha!
I would certainly like to go back to try other items on their menu to give a full thumbs up to recommend this restaurant for good Louisiana style cuisine.
So, expect me back soon Claw Daddy’s! I’m not finished with y’all yet!
