Disney World During The Holidays ~
What is there not to say about Disney World? The name speaks for itself: one of the most memorable and magical places you can be, not only as a kid but as an adult too. In fact, it brings out the inner kid in you no matter how hard you try. It can be very nostalgic, with many cartoon characters you grew up with as a child: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Princesses, and all the rest of the Disney crew.
I’ve been to Disney World many times and enjoyed it every time. I have experienced it in so many ways. There are plenty of options, whether you go as a family, solo, or with a friend group. You can stay at a Disney resort or find other cost-efficient options, as I did with my family this time. However, I highly recommend staying at a Disney resort at least once to get the full Disney experience.
My family of 25 and I chose to stay at a huge Airbnb and rented two vans to drive to the parks. I can say it certainly saved us money in the long run to split costs among each other with so many children. Disney World can be pretty expensive. Park tickets alone are costly. We only went to two, and there are six. We chose Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, both nice parks to explore as a first-timer. We had a great time, despite one park closing earlier than originally scheduled. Someone should have told us about a private event happening later that day as we were entering —nonetheless, good times with my family.
I can’t provide everything that Disney World has to offer, but I can suggest a few tips if you are planning to go soon. Here are some below, and if you need more details, email me through my contact page, or email our travel agent, Jessica Creecy, who put our trip together and made sure everything went smoothly for our family. She is great at what she does and will make sure all of your travel needs are met! (Disclaimer: I’m not saying that just because she is a family member.) Don’t hesitate to contact her for your travel needs.

Here are some tips and photos below:
- Once you’re booked for your trip, download the Disney World App right away. It provides your tickets digitally for easy park entry. It also shows wait times for rides and shows, among other things.
- Disney World requires a finger scan when you enter the parks, and you must remember which finger you used. However, there may be an option to opt out.
- Bring your own water bottles and snacks. Saves you money.
- Wear comfortable shoes, and bring hats, loose clothing, and sunscreen for hot weather. Also, bring portable fans. You will be waiting in long lines for rides, but you can purchase an E-ZPass for faster access. Bring umbrellas, ponchos, blankets, or jackets for other weather conditions.
- Bring medicine for yourself and others, just in case of sickness while at the park. Stay hydrated.
- There is transportation to other parks. Please check transportation times and park closures.
- You can also purchase scooters and strollers to help you get around the park. They have parking areas to store them while on rides.
- Wear similar clothing, like shirts or have location tags, so no one gets lost. The parks are huge.
- Map out things to do for your family before going to the parks, like which rides to do and where to eat and meet. It saves you from wasting time.
- Check out Downtown Disney if you are looking for something to do after hours.
- Last but not least, make sure you get to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse before you go.
