Egyptian Museum ~

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities located in downtown Cairo, Egypt is a must-see. It has an extensive collection of Egyptian history with over 160,000 objects.

It cost 60 Egyptian Pounds (3 to 4 dollars) for general admission and 100 EGP (5 dollars) for the Royal Mummies Room. Seeing real mummies in person was incredible, but I didn’t take pictures out of respect. Plus, you are not supposed to take photos in some areas of the museum anyway, especially in the King Tut’s section. They will throw you out of the room. However, I was able to sneak a few photos! Ha Ha! I totally would not recommend you to do that.

They do check bags before you go into the museum and have security at the entrance and exit. They do state you are not allowed to bring cameras into the museum, so make sure you leave it in your tour bus or car, but you can take your phone. That’s how I was able to take these pictures. I think they are more relax on the rules when it comes to your camera phone, nonetheless check with management to be sure.

The hours of operation are daily, 9:00 AM-7:00 PM and
9:00 AM-5:00 PM during Ramadan
